The third day of Badger Boys State began with the first day of Schools of Instruction. In these sessions, the citizens learn about topics ranging from current environmental issues to how to improve public speaking skills. Each citizen picks three of the nine schools to attend and will go through two of the sessions Monday–Wednesday, and then the third one Thursday and Friday. Here, Counselor Bryan speaks with citizens in the School of Public Finance.

After lunch, citizens had their first election of the week, voting for city-level positions. The two citizens seated are a part of the election board for their respective city and are responsible for making sure that the election runs according to plan. They’re also responsible for tallying all of the ballots once the election is over.
The counties held their county party conventions after the city elections. At these conventions, the citizens separated into their respective parties (nationalists and federalists) to determine who they would put on the ballot for county-level positions. That election will be held tomorrow.
Each county has a team for each sport and the teams will be competing all week against each other. At the end of the session, the athletic director will announce which teams placed first, second and third among each other for each sport. Here, citizens are burning off energy playing basketball.
At tonight’s general assembly, all city mayors and state troopers took the oath of office (pictured here). The state troopers will now act as the citizens’ security task force, which includes stopping traffic to cross streets.
